He came, he sang and conquered our hearts. That's how we could sum up the experience of being a part of the mesmerizing magic that Ghazal king Jagjit Singh created on the evening of 9th September 2006 at Ambedkar Bhavan. The jam-packed auditorium was an indication of the immense popularity that the Ghazal maestro enjoys among music lovers in the garden city. Over 1500 tickets were sold out in ten days. That he cast a spell on the discerning audience which was reflected in the thunderous applause that greeted his recital.
The event was co-sponsored by Confident Group's entertainment division Entertainment India Ltd which is actively involved in promoting cultural activities and events. We hope that each of the connoisseurs of ghazals who enjoyed the evening was truly enchanted by the charm and ingenuity of the ghazal king.
Shri Jagjit Singh has no peers in the genre of ghazals, magical blend of music and poetry. We hope that he will continue to enthrall us with his superlative music and incredible shaiyari which is synonymous with his genre of music.
