

Taralabalu in R T Nagar was witness to the eventful annual get-together of Nair community in Bangalore on Sunday, October 15, 2006. The celebration organized by Karnataka Nair Service Society, a social organization, and co-sponsored by the entertainment division of Confident Group, had a touch of Onam with most participants arriving in traditional Kerala attire. Various cultural programmes including music, dance and play entertained the audience the whole day. Members’ children presented some cultural programmes. The dance recital by Chitra Centre for Performing Arts and music programmes by Choice Group of Kozhikode were the highlights.

Mr K B Ganesh Kumar, cine actor and former Kerala Transport Minister, inaugurated the day-long celebrations. Mr Ramachandra Gowda, Karnataka Minister for Science and Techonologies, who was the chief guest, stressed the need to reduce the language barrier between the people of two states. He lauded the activities of KNSS in providing help to the needy and the organization’s efforts to preserve the rich culture of Malayalees. Chairman of KNSS Mr N Sivaraman, and General Secretary, Mr Ramachandran Paleri, were also present on the occasion. All the participants were provided with breakfast, lunch and tea.
Confident Group was represented by Director Mrs Liny Roy and General Manager Mr Elmo Palackal. Mr. Anthony Paul, owner of Alice Jewellery, was another distinguished guest. |
