Platinum Jubilee of Kannada Film Industry was celebrated with pomp and splendor on 13th December 2008 at the Palace Grounds.

The show was organised by the leading Kannada tabloid Kannada Prabha, a unit of The New Indian Express Group.

The who's who of the Industry were present on the occasion.A few Producers, Artists and Directors were felicitated on the occasion.

The Guests of Honour for the event were, Chairman and Managing Director of Confident Group, Dr.Roy C.J, Chairman of The New Indian Express Group Mr.Manoj Kumar Santholia, Karnataka Film Chambers Association President and Actress Ms.Jayamala and Editor of Kannada Prabha Mr.Ranganath.

The event concluded with a lot of artists performing on stage and dinner.
