Onam, the season every Malayalee eagerly awaits, is finally here! Marked by joy, togetherness, and tradition – with Onapookalam, grand Onasadhya, Thiruvathira, Onapaattu, Onakali, the Kerala Kasavu attire, it is a time when families come together to celebrate prosperity and new beginnings.
At Confident Group, Onam has always meant much more than a cultural celebration. While we celebrate with traditional attire, vibrant pookalams, cultural programs, and the much-loved Onasadhya, we are also mindful that there are many around us facing hardships to make a living – whether financial, health-related, or social. For them, the festival season is not always about abundance but about survival.
For over a decade, Confident Group has marked Onam not just with its festivities but with a conscious effort to stand beside those struggling. We extend our support to bring hope and happiness into their lives. Coming together as a united family – employees, institutions, and the communities we support. We choose to embrace them too, making them a part of our Onam celebration, our joy, and our purpose.
Helping Hand is a social initiative by Confident Group aimed at serving and supporting individuals and communities in need. Over the years, it has partnered with several service-oriented projects, making a positive difference in the lives of more than a thousand people.
Through this initiative, the Group extends support in areas such as health, housing, education, women empowerment, and assistance for the differently abled. Confident Group remains committed to creating meaningful change by working proactively with NGOs, civic bodies, and government agencies to help strengthen and uplift communities.
Under the Helping Hand initiative, Confident Group has been actively contributing to:
Through Helping Hand, Confident Group remains dedicated to creating hope, opportunity, and positive change in the lives of those who need it most.
Through the Helping Hand initiative, we support institutions, including NGOs, civic bodies and government agencies that work for underprivileged communities. As part of the commitment, a charity contribution of ₹2.5 crore is distributed in advance post-dated cheques (PDCs), covering 12 months of support until the next Onam. This ensures continuity of aid and relieves beneficiaries of the uncertainty of repeatedly seeking assistance.
Our support reaches people in meaningful ways – from building homes for disadvantaged families and offering scholarships to deserving students to providing subsidized medicines for kidney, liver, cancer and multiple sclerosis patients. We also extend care through palliative care centres, cancer foundations such as Butterfly Cancer Care Foundation and Prarthana Cancer and Critical Care Medicines Pharmacy (medicines are provided at 30% to 70% discounted rates), as well as children’s homes, special schools, and educational charitable trusts. In addition, we partner with hospitals and cover 50% of the dialysis cost, schools, and organizations like House Challenge Charitable Trust (building homes for the poor) – all with the intention to provide better healthcare, shelter and education.
What makes this initiative truly meaningful is that, unlike many corporates who carry out such activities through mandatory CSR funds (which require a turnover of ₹1000 crore or more), Confident Group does not fall into that category. Instead, we extend our support out of our own commitment and sincere effort.
We firmly believe that true celebration lies in bringing hope and dignity into the lives of those who face hardships. When we give them a ray of hope, their gratitude often comes in the form of heartfelt prayers. These prayers are what give us the strength to move forward, and they remain the true driving force behind the Confident Group.
While many choose to celebrate Onam in luxury, we consciously opt for modest venues, redirecting those savings to touch more lives. Our celebrations remain simple. For us, the essence of Onam is not confined to festivities within four walls but in spreading light, dignity, and hope to the wider community.
This is the Onam we value and believe in – a celebration of joy, compassion, and togetherness. A time when the spirit of the festival comes alive not just for us, but for everyone whose lives we can make brighter.
